Live simulation

Living together is a test.
Take it before you sign.

Flatmates, couples about to move in, friends weighing it up — nobody learns how someone really lives from a 20-minute chat. In RoomieSim the two of you share one virtual flat, each dropping in when it suits you, and the house responds only to what you actually did.

Flatmates · Couples before moving in · Friends weighing living together

Static profiles can’t predict how someone actually lives.

Roommate matching is information asymmetry over time. You commit to 12 months based on an idealized interview, then discover the truth about dishes, guests, thermostats and money on move-in day — when it’s expensive to leave.

Again and again

Ends in conflict

Cohabitation from static profiles breaks down over cleanliness, noise, guests and unpaid bills — the exact things interviews don’t reveal.

400

Example: the trust fracture

Say one “I’ll pay you back next month” reshapes the whole relationship. Financial tolerance and trust decay are invisible until money is actually on the line.

0 days

of actually watching

You can't see how someone lives before you decide. RoomieSim gives the two of you a week or so in the same flat — with nothing signed.

Five modules, one continuous relationship.

From verified sign-up to post-move-in mediation — the platform stays with you, roommates, couple, or friends, long after the match.

01
Authentication

Identity & Photo Verification

An ID and liveness check run on your own device and issue a badge. It raises the cost of a fake profile sharply — and it puts you on record, with the legal accountability that carries, before anyone enters matching.

02
Profiling

The Anti-Deception Questionnaire

Situational dilemmas — not “are you clean?” — score five behavioral attributes: cleanliness, stress, temperature, budget and social battery. You can’t game what you don’t know is being measured.

03
Discovery

Swipe matching and a secure chat

A Tinder-style deck with verified photos, bios and lease-length needs, ranked by baseline fit. A mutual like opens a chat — and the option to move into the virtual flat together.

04
Simulation

The shared house, asynchronously

You both move into the same virtual flat — each dropping in when it suits you, with no need to be online together. You cook, split chores, shop, leave a note. The house responds only to what you actually did: no staged scenes and no drama written in advance.

Aftercare

Summary & The Apartment OS

An exhaustive compatibility report, then a transition into shared chores, bill-splitting, a shared wallet, a shared protection fund (planned — subject to partnership with a licensed body) and a continuous AI Mediator that cites your simulation history to resolve real disputes.

The questions everyone asks

This product runs on trust — so here are the answers, straight.

We're already a couple / friends — is this for us?

Yes. If you already have someone, at sign-up you pick 'I already have someone', send them an invite, and once they finish verification and the questionnaire you're straight into the simulation. No searching, no browsing profiles.

What happens to my ID photo?

It never leaves your browser. All verification checks (face detection, document reading, selfie matching) run locally on your device. No server receives the image, and clearing site data deletes it forever.

What do you keep about me after verification?

The verification status (full/partial) and birth year — never the images. The ID photo and selfie live only in your browser and die with it; the server gets only the verification outcome, together with the rest of your account (profile, questionnaire, progress). Everything is erasable with one button on the profile page. Full details in the privacy policy.

Is the simulation money real?

No. The wallet, salaries and bills are part of the game — they exist to reveal how each of you handles shared money, not to charge you. Nothing in this version bills anything real.

What if my match disappears mid-simulation?

A run lasts 7–10 days precisely so this surfaces early: someone who disappears halfway through would probably have disappeared halfway through a lease. Better to find out now — it is exactly what you came for.

What does it actually cost?

Starting is free: a full simulation week, no credit card. Beyond that — a monthly plan or pay-per-day (prices on the pricing screen). In the current demo no payment is actually collected.

Am I talking to a real person or a bot?

Two real people in one virtual flat. Nothing plays a flatmate for you, and no scenes are staged — what happens in the house comes out of the two of you. There is a demo screen that shows what it looks like, and it is labelled a demo everywhere it appears.

What data reaches your servers at all?

Your account is stored on the server (in a record keyed by a hash of your email): profile, questionnaire results, matches and messages, simulation progress, consent records, verification status and birth year. What NEVER goes up: the ID photo, the selfie and the ID number — verification runs in the browser only. Additionally: your email for sending codes, and simulation chat messages to the AI service. Full account deletion is available on the profile page. Details in the privacy policy.
